INSIGHT AMERICA

I  visited America just after September 11th. The shock America had by this incident had to be seen rather than described and the remarkable manner they faced this challenge posed to it and the world community.

In spite of advancement in every field and with sophisticated    war technology at hand they could not avert this worst damage in the history that too by a simple tool of hand knife.

America started to rethink their approach and took lot of steps to face this challenge.

Some statistics will help us:

1. Reducing the interest rate from 5 to 3% by which to bring up the industrial production and improve the economy.

2. The Security level in all domestic and international Air Ports tightened so that thorough check is made of lug gages and persons.

3. No one is allowed at the side of cockpit.

4. The passengers were asked to remove the shoes to prevent hiding of knife and other items.

5. The Volunteers in Airport are brought under control and work in unison with security personnel.

6. Imbibe in the mind of every American Citizen at this critical time that they are American first and they are one and face the challenge of terrorism united.

7. Americans came forward to help the Government spontaneously.

8. The private industries adopted economic measures to sustain the economy.

9. This incident do affect America-unemployment level increased to 6%.

10. Many companies adopted reduction of employees, cutting bonus and other fringe benefits.

11. The service sector got affected very much.

12. Airlines faced the impact and people reduced their travel by air.

13. Advertisement field, Hotel occupation, jewelry business were affected.

• Lawyers were having field day.
• Insurance companies benefited.
• Gun sales, car sales, security personnel. dentists and nurses were on demand.
• Persons knowing Arabic language were in demand.

This series is coming to an end and I am very glad that I was able to get wealth of details from various sources. In India we are also growing in many field like IT, construction industries, high development etc. But in many areas our development is very slow and with the advent of information technology and communication we can accelerate our progress and improve the life of common people to get basic necessities in their life like shelter, water, sanitation etc.
